2014 Chesapeake City Car Show

The wife and I drove up to Chesapeake City Maryland to see the car show and met up with Jim Yergin who drove his 1941 Plymouth out to Delmarva for the second time.  This time Melissa & I joined the show but got in too late for any inspection by the show's judging team.  Actually the cars were starting to line up for the trophy parade which begins early afternoon.  We were parked in place just around 1:30 PM.  It was nice driving up to the show because this is the first time I didn't have anything to fix or repair before we started out on our 160 mile round-trip ride.  Actually the car was already cleaned from the last time I had her out.   If we do this again, I think I will get up there in the morning.  I'm thinking by 9 or 10:00 AM would work fine.

I think my car presented well, amidst the 500+ cars in attendance.  As usual the streets were lined with classic, hotrods & custom cars.

Jim's car was sitting with a few other vintage Woody's near the Marina.  Jim also received the furthest drive award.  Well deserved after all Jim's work.

This is a nice early 30's Ford hot-rodded with a flathead ford V8 engine.  Really cool !!!

Melissa & I owned a 1972 Nova back in the 80's.  Our cars were usually a decade from the current date.  Below is a 73 and of course it is in a lot better shape then our daily driver back in the 1980's

Below is an early 60's work Van, Actually Melissa & I had a 1963 Ford Van back in the early 70's.  Ah! those were the days.   This particular work van was not sporting a stock engine ???  Back in the day we were lucky  if we could get our old Ford Van started.  This one looks like a wheelie isn't out of the question.

It was a nice day for the show, although we had a little rain on the ride home.  This was the first time I have driven my old Plymouth in the rain.

No leaks, No problems, another Great time !!!
