I didn't get to valve lapping this weekend but did take advantage of the mild temperatures.  The head was thoroughly cleaned and painted along with the valve adjustment covers and water pump pulley.  The radiator and fan were also cleaned and painted.  I am using Chrysler blue for the motor and black for the radiator, fan, starter, and generator.  I will paint the exhaust manifold red and the intake silver.  I know these are not original colors but they are my choice.

The radiator was in excellent condition.  The water that was removed from the engine was clean and properly mixed with lubricating antifreeze.

Anyone starting a project like this please don't underestimate the amount of work involved.  The best way I can describe it is like building a car from the bottom up the only extra added attraction is cleaning and removing either rust or grease from every part you assemble.  Taking the car apart is the easy task.  Cleaning and restoring the parts is definitely the harder task.
