I continued the body prep.

  • I installed the refurbished trunk lid along with the passenger side rear fender.

  • The trunk's outer surface was in poor shape.

  • I sanded with 60 grit followed by 80, then 120.

  • Once the surface was decent I painted with a rust stop treatment.

  • The fender cleaned up real nice.

  • I sand blasted the front & rear bumper ??? ( I don't know that they are called ???) Trim.

  • I sanded the bumper trim with 120 grit then painted with rust stop treatment.

  • Well this weekend finishes the first full body sand & repair.  Getting closer to full body paint.

  • Now I need to do some spot repairs and some spot filler to smooth out the body lines before I spray the car with primer filler.

  • After that I will turn the car over to a professional paint shop to finish the job.

I definitely need to get this done before winter sets in so I can have the finish coat on in the early spring.  I definitely want to drive this car legally sometime in 2009.
