Back to the Upholstery:

Saturday

Over this weekend I finished the last seat cushion. the front seat, back cushion.

  • I stripped the cushion down to the springs and then painted it black.

  • As with the other three cushions I made a strong canvas spring cover.

  • Made a new seat cushion from 2" foam material.   Glued on a foam corners to match the original seat cushion.

  • As with the others I made paper templates from the old seat material and then cut out the material.  We also added the pleats using the same process as the rear seat back.

  • The wife & I positioned the material inside out on the seat and pinned it for sewing.

  • Once the material was sewn and the edges basted we installed the material and the batting on the seat.

  • It came out perfect.

  •  Now all that's left are the Armrests.

I reupholstered my rear seat in the spring of 2006.
