Title: Brake master
Post by: imoore on January 23, 2019, 04:40:35 AM
Hey guys

I have decided to put a rebuild kit through my master. As it leaks out dust boot.
Wondering if anyone had some light to where these components go

1: wavy thin shim washer
2: thick rubber round gasket. ( same size of bore).

The owners manual doesn't show these parts.

The attached image is not specific to our mc's but generic, I think you are talking about the 'master cup' and the 'dished washer'

If you search in google for Master cylinder exploded diagram there are a lot of image returns.

Ian,

I believe the early 28Q's had a different master than the 29 & 30.  See below the picture of the 29U master.  I believe the new parts in the picture are placed in the order of reassembly.  Removing the end cap isn't necessary, just clean with solvent.

Here is an old page from my 29 site from a repair in 2006.  Sorry out of sight out of mind.  Don't remember much about the repair.

Doesn't answer your question but maybe the pictures might help.
