Title: choke
Post by: Rusty on April 24, 2010, 08:43:54 PM
Could someone post a photo of the choke linkage/cable of a Model A carb?  I replaced my orginial (rebuild later) with a ford carb but the choke is opposite.  I could hook it up so that pulled out is open and pushed in is "open" which would be opposite of the orginial.  Do you just run a very long cable and connect on the side toward the rad?  rusty

What I did was connect the orginial cable up with using the screw hole that the orginial air cleaner mounts to the 90 degree elbow on the model A ford carb.  In normal operation, the choke is pulled to be on and pushed in to be off, now it is just reversed.  For driving, the choke cable is pulled out and is pushed in for starting.  Works great but for the next owner, he will be confused.  rusty
