Hi Guys !
The 30U I had ! Was running a 8v battery  and I had no issues with it ! I also bought a 8v Alternater from the states and left original wiring to be able to put back 6v generator if needed, also bought 8v quartz halogen globes to fit directly into original headlight sockets ,, all can be put back to original specs .

Just a thought have a go at flushing out engine block and reverse flush new radiator , try putting a large container to catch water to see if any particles come out !

On some carburetor 's. the screw is there to bypass air in chamber or throught of Carby don't think it's from outside as dust can be drawn in . Best to ask a Carby rebuilder to be sure

Today found a way to repair a vacuum advance canister for Dodge distributor and used silicon rubber sheet for diaphragm , that should get me better fuel economy ! It just keeps on improving .

As far as I can recall there is rubber all the way around bottom was like half a channel rubber and soft and I think top has a T or L shape that rubs against glass !
Cheers Tony.
