Are there any suppliers selling reproduction or NOS inside door handles for a four door sedan? Alternatively I would appreciate if anyone knows where I can get a couple of good used handles. Two of mine are almost unservicable and I was wanting to replace them before they break off.

I believe they pop up on eBay pretty regularly.  Keep checking in and you will probably run across them.

Thanks, I too thought it is better to get new handles cast for long lasting reasons, but I was hoping that there was someone with repoduction handles already cast.
Out of interest, I was also wondering if the US handles are the same as on my car which has an Australian built body. My handles have a splined hole with a threaded escutcheon that holdes the handle to the door. Do the US and Canadian cars use the same system, or do they use a square hole and split pin or similar to retain it to the shaft? Mine seem very similar to those used on Australian bodied buicks I have seen.

If I remember correctly I am pretty sure my car uses a square hole and pin.  Can't check right now because the car is in my daughter's garage.  Lots of parts lying around the house but none of them door handles.

Maybe Mr Old Plymouths will know for sure.

My 29 has a square hole with a pin.

Thanks for the information Guys, figured mine were different than the rest of the world. Plymouth handles I saw on Ebay always looked as though they had square holes.

Judging from your profile picture you car looks real nice.  Is that a trunk attached in the rear?   If you get a chance post a picture or two of your car I am personally interested in seeing the Trunk setup.

Tks,  Chet...

Yes all the North American production has the square hole and pin and the floating escutcheon. You push the escutcheon hard against a spring hidden behind the door dress panel and use a nail or nail set (punch) to push out the pin and release the door handle.
I mentioned  an outfit up my way that reproduces pot metal pieces using your old piece as a mould guide. I have been trying to track the guy down since posting that reply but havent' found him yet. He always shows up at our auto flea markets but it's 'deep and crisp and even' out there right now and flea markets won't start in earnest for another 2 months atleast. If you can hang on until I go to a few and find him I'll post it.
The Australian outfit is horribly expensive. I tried to see if they could repro a hub cap for me and the cost of 4 without plating or polishing was going to exceed $1000 CDN. Since our Canadian $ in now equal to or better than the US $ I was ,needless to say, quite shocked. Since the p/p would come to another $500 you know I didn't go ahead.
The father and son outfit I'm talking about just does door handles and mascots. I'll keep asking around. I believe their door handles are less than $100 CDN. you P/P.

Years ago I put Ford Model A handles in mine - that was all I could afford at 17.  They look fine and fit perfectly.  Original type repoductions would be great, but pricey.  I still have some of the original handles - but they are unserviceable.  Will look for the original windshield crank.  The only original inside handle I am still using is actually a rear window knob that I moved to the front windshield.
