I am in the process of installing my new side sills.It looks like the (center) B pillar brackets have been altered in the past, I would think there would have just been a brecket at the bottom and a small t brace at the top. Does anyone have a picture of the correct  brackets mine are the width of the sills and go the full length of the b pillar (approximately. 43 inches) and form a *t* at the top where they attach to the roof framing.    thanks in advance for any help    j Grare

I see on ebay today a new 29 u   CNC machined aircraft aluminum dist. housing listed from Germany $399.00 plus shipping. Looks very well made from photo

One more question (hopefully my last for a while) Is there a cross member (wooden) where the front floorboard meets the angled floorboard (cowl) I cannot tell if the sills were mortised out as there was not much left of the front half of the sills. There was just some 1 x 6 pine screwed to the brackets in the cowl and a piece of plywood  laying on the floor. I would think it wouldn't have to be very big, just enough to keep floor from sagging. Again any input is appreciated thank you      J.Grare

Is it possible there is only welting material at the mounting points? I see someone on ebay selling 1 1/2 x 2 x1/4" rubber pads with about a 1/2" hole in center. This seems to make sense as there was no residue other than rust on the underside of splash aprons or on the top of the frame rail. Also the sills would clear the rivet heads by about a 1/16" of an inch, and not collect any moisture as there would be a small gap under the sill.   Any input would be appreciated thank you    J.Grare

Sandblasted  and painted chassis. I will be making and  putting on new side sills in the near future. does anyone know the correct thickness body to frame welt. All I see for sale is 1/8"in. thick welting, the frame rivet heads are almost a 1/4"thick. Can I double it up or is there a supplier that has 1/4".I read somewhere conveyer belt material can be used. Another option would be to drill recesses for the rivet heads and use the 1/8"welting. one more question-Is there anything between the splash apron and the bottom of the sill?   I only want to do this once any help would be appreciated thank you  J.Grare

making new sills for model u and need and need the correct width of the cowl at the floor .I measured before removal and seemed to have written down two measurements in notes ( 42 in. and 43 in.) also is the A pillar mortised into the sill or flush,sill is rotted away in that area,that is why I cant get a good measurement.       thanks JG

Does anyone have a picture of where center pillar meets the sill.The outter 11/2" edge of the sill is rotted off,I can't tell if pillar went into sill or just butted against it.Also the pillar bracket looks like someone welded a piece on bottom so it extends into sill.Seems like that was done to stiffen up pillar as the sill was patched in with plywood.Should the bracket extend to the top of pillar (t -shaped)and tie into the roof structure? thanks for any input J grare
