General Discussion / Interior light
November 17, 2011, 02:41:05 PM
I was lucky to find a new old stock interior light for 30u sedan fitted yesterday  it works now ! Had to replace main wire as it was below average and was worried that it would short out!
I know it's correct because shape and screw hole in roof woodwork matched perfectly !
Cheers Tony!

Driven the old girl about 60 klms, not a hint of exhaust leak ! manifold looks patched ,so eventually will get another for car shows car seems just a little more lively ,I did not think leaking exhaust would make that much difference .
I also got hold of a new stainless exhaust deflector from USA , I am going to start dressing up the old girl !

Try see if you can fit a spacer between end of bolt and axle ! Just needs to move less than half a mm and wheel will come off!
It is important to have puller screwed all the way in !!
Cheers Tony.

General Discussion / Re: Steering wedge
October 12, 2011, 06:36:21 AM
About 3 days ago put 3 deg. Wedge to rear side of front axle which in turn made top of kingpins lean further to rear , it now makes positive feel when driving and more effort to turn and no more steering wobbles !
Just getting better all the time"

Good news !
Installed new modern tailshaft had, 3 finger yokes remachined, made adapters for new tail shaft, rebuilt handbrake drum , now it drives so much smoother ! Now when driving down highway at 80klm/h throw it into neutral and I could not believe the difference, engine still requires balancing. But the rest of the car is 99% for smoothness.
Can't wait to get my hands on engine problem but it's going to wait until full restoration.
Will post some pics of tailshaft soon !
Cheers Tony.
