There is a fellow that makes the original style hose clamps any size you want for a very reasonable price.

Are you sure the connecting rod is bad, or does it just need to be rebattited?
I have some connecting rods for a 29, not sure if they are the same.

I wonder if they were nickle plated and not chrome plated.

I am sure you are correct. I found another emblem and tried replating it with a hobby kit, but it had fine scratches on the brass that made the chrome Look not so good.  When I mounted it I discovered it was not curved enough and the upper and lower portions stuck out from the shell.  So I polished the brass on my original emblem and went with that for now.

My 29U appears to be some type of copper alloy, maybe brass. I polished it and looks good against the chrome shell.
On mine I had a chip out of the blue which was very hard to match. I never really could get it right, but not very noticeable.
I think my car was built in May of 1929.

OK. I will look and see how many I have and which ones are good enough.

I'll check and see how many good ones I have. Some were prototypes that may not be good enough.

My 29U was mounted like Tom's but with a Klaxon 14 horn,  I eventually found a Klaxon 12 and a bracket for the water inlet.

Chet,
I had some reproduced a few years ago. My intent was to make them available at cost to members. When the manufacturer ( a local trophy shop) got the design right, I asked them to make a batch, but they told me they lost the digital file.  Anyway I have a few of them. You can have one if you want, but you have to drill the two holes yourself. The prototypes were approved by the Club as correct.

Plymouth Bulletin No 256,  Vol 43, # 6, dated Sep-Oct 2002.  The article is, "Through a Glass Darkly", one of Edwin Sapp's many fine articles on 1929 Plymouths.

You can request back issues if available.

Bob,
A friend sold some of his stuff for his wife.  She sent me the rest, not many things left. Apparently he would make things to order, he apparently didn't stock up. I have an old gas tank gauge and a new unused tan tire cover. The rest are odds and ends, not sure what some of it is.
