Thanks for the response!

Hello,
Does anyone know if the original generator bracket nuts and bolts on a 30 U were hexagonal or square?  This is the bracket that goes under the generator has has two attachment points, not the bracket on top where you can adjust the tension of the generator belt.  Thanks!

Yes, a photo would be very helpful if you have one.

General Discussion / 30 U gas pedal
September 28, 2019, 09:44:28 PM
One question I never got around to asking: does the gas pedal on a 1930 30U have any rubber piece on it, or is it just metal?   My car just has a metal circle that is wearing thin, but no rubber petal attached to it.  right next to it is a "foot rest" knob that has a rubber knob on it.

Rich,
You should be getting your parts shortly.  I emailed the tracking number to you.  Keep us posted on how it works out.

Rich,
Sent you an email with a photo, not sure if you got it.  Also, I believe my switch parts to be from 1930, so not sure if these will work fully with your '29, but the coil looks exactly the same from what I can tell.

Rich,
I may be able to help.  I believe I have an extra coil/ignition that I tried to get working, and did get working for a few hours, but I think the coil may have given up, so I gave up.  Let me see if I can dig it out of my parts pile tomorrow and see what I have and get back to you.

Thanks.  I ended up using a Model A one and cutting it to fit.  Worked great.

Does anyone know of a source for a new Steering Column to Dash Clamp Gasket?  Mine has worn out completely.  Thanks.

According to the Plymouth Master Parts List 1928-1934, the shock part numbers are as follows for the 30U: Right front: 1590A-3C, Left Front: 1590B-3C, Right Rear: 1590C-3D, Left Rear: 1590D-3D.  They would be Delco-Lovejoy shocks.  Please also note that this is for the 30U, not the plain old U (both made in 1930).  You may want to check your serial number to make sure your car is a 30U and figure out roughly when it was built, as there were many running changes to the 30U.

Thank you kindly for the response, but I need to know what the original oil cup looked like.  It originally had an oil cup, not a grease fitting.  Any other owners have a response?  Thanks again.

General Discussion / 1930 30U Water Pump Oiler?

Hello,
What does the rear oiler on a factory 1930 30U water pump look like?  According the the owner's manual, the water pump should have an open oil hole at the front an a oil cup on the rear.  Is it a small spring-door cup, does it have a bend or angle to it?  Is it a larger cup?  Not sure.  My car had a 4" long tube screwed in with a zerk fitting for grease at the end.  The hole is not vertical, it comes out at maybe a 15-20 degree angle, so thought I'd ask the experts what is correct for the car.  Thanks!

Attached is a photo of a repro made by Floyd Carlstrom, who sold these from the back of the Plymouth Bulletin.  Unfortunately, he is no longer in the business.  The other photo is an original spark advance label, for reference.
