Very interesting, Ian.  What weight oil do you use?  I have always used grease in all areas with Alemite fittings and 85-140 gear lube in the transmission (gear box) and rear axle.

The air cleaner is a flat, light gray color and I believe is the only painted part that did not get repainted.

The vac tank, I've seen natural and black, don't know if both could be correct.  From the POC Judging Guide, March 2000, "Vacuum advance units, carburetors and fuel pumps shall be the natural "as cast" color."  Unfortunately, this doesn't address vac tank by name, but hey, it is a fuel pump.

Ian,  all measurements taken from installed parts, I did not measure the circumferences.

Exhaust pipe 1 5/8" dia on car when purchased in 1965

Tail pipe 1 1/2" dia, I believe size is correct based on fragment of pipe in rear hangar

Muffler 18" overall length, about 6" diameter, I know this was replaced and can't claim correct, original dimensions, but it looks proportionally ok

I started with a 1/4" copper line, vac tank/carb.  That broke where I made the flange.  Tried a flex gas line.  That also finally caved - probably due to the way I installed it.  Now have a steel line as you can see in pic.  No problems so far.  Is this correct?  Wasn't noted as wrong when judged by POC.  Did get a gig for not having a cardboard tag on the correct carb, though.  frank

In 2001, drove about 220 mile to POC National meet on a Thursday.  Saturday drove 215 to wife's nieces' wedding.  Sunday, 240 back home.  One particular back road was memorable, a first gear hill out of the Mississippi River valley.  I was thinking how much fun it would be to back up that sucker in a Model A!!
In 2002, about 165 one way to another POC meet.  A lot of seat time!

Kim, I add my encouragement, too.  Getting back home and checking the forum, gets the juices flowing to work on mine.   Can't do much without a heated garage in Minnesota, so will get satisfaction from your accomplishments and what other folks are working on.

The 35 to 40 range is also good for me, although it is very road surface dependent.  50 on new asphalt was a pleasure.
I do know, the older I get, the lower the "comfortable speed!"

I have seen similar brackets for sale at flea markets, but have no idea if they were a Plymouth part.  Good luck!!
