Looking for some reccommendations for chrome plating shops that specialize in antique autos.  I want to have my headlights rechromed.  The bezels have a couple of small dents.  Need a shop that will make the repairs as well as chrome plating.

I ordered mine a year ago.  The cost was $225 + $20 S&H, with a $50 deposit required for the order.  He also requests you send an original so he can be sure he is using the correct patern.  He will return them. His back-log is 6-8 months.  Well worth the cost and the wait.

Did you have to do any machining, or was it ready to install?

I just received my new sill plates for my 29 Plymouth 4 Dr from Don Kuhn.   They look great.  Question - should the sills be installed under the sill covers, or on top of them?

Regarding the color, I did find a very small patch of original color when I removed the bracket from the back of the dash, but I was not able to computer match it because it was too uneven in color.  The color I chose does look similar to that patch though.  I also looked at a lot of other blue 29 Plymouths, it seemed the right color.

It is Dupont Nason CAS536 1F with a clear coat.

I had my outside door handles and escutcheons chrome plated.  When I went to put them back together I noticed the handles do not sit all the way into the escutcheons - I guess the chrome plating made them too thick.  Question - the handles should sit all the way into the escutcheon sockets, correct?

When re-assembling, the spring sits on the inner part of the escutcheon - correct?

Also - Most every old Plymouth I have seen has at least one outside door handle that sags.  Has anyone ever tried to repair a door latch with a weak spring?

The lug nuts are exactly the same as the Model T Ford.  You can order them on-line from Snyders.
