Yes the book that Butler wrote called The Plymouth and Desoto Story, which is History says that it was only on the dash that year.

I was told by someone that the vin# is also on the frame of the 29 Plymouth at front under the left front fender. Is this true? my book says that its only on the dash and the door frame left side. My 29 has a very good frame with no scalely rust on it and I have not been able to find a number on it at all.

Thanks for the photos of your cars top. I have a 29 that's missing a lot of parts and was wondering when you were working on, is the latch side door jamb just wood or does it have a metal part on it like the door jamb were hinges are have?
