Title: Hanging handle
Post by: Gary 30U on April 19, 2010, 12:09:03 AM
Anyone know how to correct this problem? The drivers side is OK.

When I take the handle off and look inside it appears that the bracket which has the square hole in it that the shaft goes through is at this same angle.

Any ideas appreciated.

Gary

How is the spring in the handle?  That is waht cause it most of the time.  Or you may need to take it apart and do some adjusting on the spring stop.  Good luck Craig

I replaced the spring on both sides but didn't do anything except make the handles hard to turn. Kind of wish I would have left them alone. Anyway, it didn't help the sag.

The history I have on my 30U is the car has 33000 miles on it, all thats ever been done to the body is repainted and the door handles sage like yours. My doors open and shut very good. I just live with it. If you look closely at old photos of these cars the handles hang slightly down. Just my thoughts
