Title: Wire wheel color
Post by: Russ T. Fender on April 06, 2016, 09:38:23 PM
Does anyone have the paint codes for the wire wheels on a 30-U.  I am wondering what colors were offered and if there were limited options  based on body color?  I am thinking of painting the body Crown Maroon and wonder what color options were available for the wire wheels.  The car was originally a dark green with yellow wire wheels.

I checked that source out and was able to get body colors but nothing about the color of the wire wheels.  I do know that the artillery wheels were the same color as the body but may also have been available in natural wood.  The wheels I have were yellow and have never been repainted so I am pretty sure that yellow wheels were available with a green body.  The 30-U roadster I had many years ago had red wire wheels with a tan body but I am not sure they were original to the car.

I believe swamp holly orange was a popular wire wheel color.  If yours were originally yellow, I'd stick with that.
