When the engine needs to come out, do most poeple pull the tranmission with the engine as one unit or pull the engine seperately?  Do the fenders need to come off?  rusty

Hi Rusty
I think it is easier to remove the transmission and leave the fenders.  I was surprised that my new front motor mount raised the engine so far the exhaust became a minor problem.    jim

Jim,

I may be doing this at some point in time so the question is:  Do you unbolt the bell housing from the frame or unbolt the motor from the bell housing.?  It seems to me that the bell housing is a major cross member holding the frames together ???

I have never removed the bell housing.  I remove the transmission and flywheel, then pull the engine, leaving the bell housing in place.
