Hi all !!
Last week end I have removed tailshaft to improve smoothness of car and I am making some progress , as I have discovered that holes that are drilled in the 3 finger yoke on front and rear are off centre by upto .045" so now of to engineering shop to correct it.
Its a long way out of dynamic balance for 2000 to 3000rpm

There is a bloke in Geelong that I believe is a guru in shafts he has done a couple for me - even fixed up the farm ute when I launched on to some rocks - it was pretty bad

Good news !
Installed new modern tailshaft had, 3 finger yokes remachined, made adapters for new tail shaft, rebuilt handbrake drum , now it drives so much smoother ! Now when driving down highway at 80klm/h throw it into neutral and I could not believe the difference, engine still requires balancing. But the rest of the car is 99% for smoothness.
Can't wait to get my hands on engine problem but it's going to wait until full restoration.
Will post some pics of tailshaft soon !
Cheers Tony.

These adapters are removable to re-install original tailshaft when needed !
Cheers Tony.
