I'm cleaning up the engine and bay on my '28.
Can any tell me the colors of the heads, block, components, firewall, ect.?
A pic would be very helpful but a description would be much appreciated as well.

My 2 cents on the 1928-Q. I am not an expert but the firewall I would think would be the same color as the body paint. The engine, transmission, & bell housing would be black and the head is silver. (Thus the Silver Dome)

That's an artist misconception. You were right the 1st time Chet. All over black with silver head and water outlet,cylinder bolt heads included. The saddle on the generator cutout is plain steel,I believe galvanized. The aircleaner is black and carb float bowl is polished brass. The parking brake is black with the latching button nickel plated. The gear shift lever is black and the knob is black material but not painted. I've been told the exhaust manifold is 'gray' and the intake manifold is 'black'. But I dont' know how they got that way.

Your firewall is painted black. "The border... was the junction of the vertical panel to horizontal." From the Plymouth Owners Club Judging Guide, Design 11 - March, 2000.
Electrical components black and cylinder head silver. The POC may have this guide on their site.

I know what you mean. I someday hope to start work on my 29 to get her closer to original. I would like to redo the car as a Taxi. I have seen a few factory pictures of a 29 Plymouth Taxi. Don't know yet.., just thinking out loud.

Great idea! You might have seen one version currently for sale on ebay.
A couple of other items. There is more info from Earl and Jeff Buton in Plymouth Bulletin #289, March - April 2008. Article is Judging: Engine and Mechanical Categories in Group I Plymouths, (1928 - 1939).
Now, if done correctly, here is picture of "barn find" 29U firewall I saw yesterday. More on that in separate thread.

BTW I'm not convinced that Canadian and American Plymouths both had black firewalls. The jury is still out but I think the Windsor body maker did not bother taking the time and money to paint the firewall black. I think Canadian bodies were all body color,firewall included. Not sure yet tho. Need to see some more barn fresh cars.
There must be an unrestored Canadian out there somewhere. Looked for a body tag on front passenger side floor, but could not find it. The original front mat and back "carpet" were history. My body is Hayes, as I believe were all 4door sedans.
Noted Kingston vacuum tank was black. This has been discussed before. Mine is natural and have seen both in restored cars. I may have to paint mine black, which is probably correct.
