Title: 1929 U sedan body to frame welting (webbing is there a difference)
Post by: jeffrey grare on February 02, 2016, 11:06:02 AM
Sandblasted  and painted chassis. I will be making and  putting on new side sills in the near future. does anyone know the correct thickness body to frame welt. All I see for sale is 1/8"in. thick welting, the frame rivet heads are almost a 1/4"thick. Can I double it up or is there a supplier that has 1/4".I read somewhere conveyer belt material can be used. Another option would be to drill recesses for the rivet heads and use the 1/8"welting. one more question-Is there anything between the splash apron and the bottom of the sill?   I only want to do this once any help would be appreciated thank you  J.Grare

Wish I had the answer, but my car never had the body removed.  Unfortunate you had no remains left when you took yours off to use as guide.
