Has anyone installed a water pump (electric) on their 29U?

If you have the original capacity radiator you shouldn't need a water pump.  The thermal-syphon system works well even in 98 degree summer temperatures.  I don't believe anyone sells an electric water pump for automotive purposes ? But  I could be wrong.

Thanks Chet, I do have the original radiator. I'm restoring the car and will get the radiator refurbished. Is there anything I should be carful of with regard with it? Will a standard radiator shop be able to do the work?

Basically if you can find a shop that can still clean out the radiator and solder any leaks then you should be good to go.  Flush out the motor to get as much crap out as possible.   Are you doing any engine work ?

Very difficult to repair leaks if the radiator is a honeycomb or diamond pattern. Had to have a radiator made made for my 30U RS Coupe. Spent two months tyring to find someone who could make one and not charge an arm and a leg - $1,500 - $2,500. Found a shop within 20 miles - $450. Now, it is a standard tube and fin but I do not care because I donlt show the car.

Mine over heated every few miles.  I had a local radiator check the flow and it checked ok (twice).  It kept over heating and I ultimately had it recorded (brass radiator works?sp).  No longer over heats, I went with a model A looking core vs honey comb.  It does not look as nice but was cheaper.  I also added a 4 blade fan which replaced the orginial two blade.  That moves a lot more air.
I also use water ( instead of antifreeze).  I ran it few times last year in 90 plus weather for 30 miles trips with no issues.  I do wish it had a temp gauge.  Just would make me feel better.
