General Discussion / Engine 29 U

I am looking for a shop to rebuild a 29 U engine. I live on Long Island NY. Does any one know of a shop in the NY, NJ CT area?

Has anyone used a Stewart Warner vacuum tank instead of the original Kingston vacuum tank on their 28,29,30 U?

So the DRT-08 was used in conjunction with fuel pumps. Does that sound correct?

Does anyone know what make carburetor was used on the 29 U? Also what carburetor was used on the 30 U when they switched from vacuum tank to a fuel pump? Was it the same?

General Discussion / Re: Wheels size next question

OK next question. Can the 19s and 20s be interchangeable? Are the spindle, brakes drums, bearings the same size for both? In other words can replace my 19s with 20s without doing a major job?

Thanks John & Frank. I was beginning to think that I was the only 29U with 19 inch wheels.
#23
Hmmm, my 29 U has 19 inch.

Thanks, I'll let you know how it works out.

28Us had 20 inch wheels and 29/30 Us had 29 inch wheels. Is this correct?

The type that I'm inquiring about are the lever type with straps. They are not frozen but don't seem to be doing any good.

My 29 U has what I would call the rudiment of shock absorbers. Has anyone worked on or rebuilt them?

General Discussion / Re: water pump

Thanks Chet, I do have the original radiator. I'm restoring the car and will get the radiator refurbished. Is there anything I should be carful of with regard with it? Will a standard radiator shop be able to do the work?

Has anyone installed a water pump (electric) on their 29U?
