General Discussion / Re: interior
June 03, 2010, 07:07:26 PM
As far as I know interior kits are not avail for our cars so I have saved as many pict. as possible from original cars on e-bay ect to use as a referance. Cant say for plymouth but Dodge had what was called a confidential bulletin and in one of the bulletins I have there is a breakdown of what the interior color and material was according to prod. #. I am sure yours was one of three materials, mohair, leather or bedford cord. I should say I am assuming that those were your choices, that was the only 3 avail for my line. I am sure that I can be a big help if you ever feel like getting it really correct. I have spent a great deal of time studying interiors and the many interior fastners associated with our cars. If you want my e-mail let me know.

Hope I am not kijacking your thread but if I may add that I am also wondering if anyone has a breakdown on the types of grease fittings used on autos of our era and when they changed. Photos of some sort would be great.

Somebody must have seen a 29 or 30 original wrench or better yet set of wrenches, was it a forged wrench? was it a stamped wrench? your experiences will help others better understand what originally came with their cars for tools. Anyone have any suggestions of where among Plymouth owners I might get answers to these questions if they cant be answered here. Thanks for any replies

That is alot of great info, thanks for sharing that, any idea on who supplied the wrenches for the 29 Plymouth, I have seen the sets on e-bay and will save my comments for now.
Also would it be possible to get a clearer picture of the rim tool, I cannot read what the instructions say, thanks again

I have been researching early tool kits that came with our cars and would appreciate any help or leads as to what Plymouth may have used and or what manuf. supplied their tools. Thanks in advance for any help

You may have heard of it before but if not than there is an adhesive called panel bond that we use in collision work to glue quarter panels on. Black in color, takes 24 hrs to completely dry but it can be molded and will last longer than you or I will ever care. I have used it to make molds even, absalutely amazing stuff and if you are ever inclined than I would suggest trying it.

General Discussion / Re: Kingston vacuum tanks
March 21, 2010, 07:19:49 AM
I type in Kingston and all it does it bring me right back to my original question I posted here!
Does anyone know what vacuum tank originally came on 28-29 Plymouths and does anyone have any onformation on these?

Ok I figured it out, like i said if I type in Kingston on the little window at the top right portion of screen it is usless, if I click on the search tab at the left top it shows me some kingston related stuff, not exactely what I was looking for but lots of good info nevertheless.
I would like to find out what the original top fittings look like,  all the pictures I have viewed here  show two copper fittings, I may be wrong but I dont think this is original, I have a couple of fittings that I think are original and would like to post them here so maybe someone can confirm they are original but I dont see how to place a pict. If anyone can tell me how to post a photo here ( in posting photos for the computer illiterate terms ) than that would be great.
I have a friend with a 29 Chandler that also has a Kingston originally, he is in need of the original fitting, I have an engineers design format for the fitting and would like to reproduce the fitting and am wondering if anyone else is interested in that.
As far as I know and pretty sure I am not mistaken the originals were pot-metal, I have a couple of these but also have the brass version that as far as I know was made at a little bit of a later date. I would assume that there would be a great interest in this but cant seem to find it, anyone here interested.
Also researching the vacuum tank as far as the lawsuit that was filed between Kingston and Stewert for patent infringement, looking for ANY patent #s for the tank as well. Any information in addition to this would be helpfull.
