Can anyone recommend a rebuilder who has done Delco 947B generators?  I believe that generator was used on Plymouths from 1928 up to and including the non-water pump 30-U's.  Thanks.

He is the Best:

Don Allen / Gener-Nator

Here is the starter:

Complete rebuild, rewired.  The generator is self polarizing when he is finished with it.., also new Delco tags with proper SN numbers.

Yes, a little pricey but well worth it. He does an exceptional job.

Generators  are pretty straight forward . Look for local auto electric repair shop . Truckers , farmers can lead you . Kits are available that even include brushes . Is it just not working or you doing pm on it ?

The generator on the car is 90 years old and up until the last few years was in almost daily use.  It still works but I am in the midst of a restoration and have an untested spare that I want to get rebuilt so I will have a fresh generator for the finished project.  I will keep the one on the car as a back up and probably have it serviced when the restoration is done.  Generators are fairly simple but most rebuilders are not familiar with the early units with a cut out and third brush.  I had a very unpleasant experience with a reputable rebuilder who almost destroyed an early generator years ago so I am a bit gun shy.
