If any of you folks frequent FB marketplace there is a 30U sedan with lots of parts listed. I dont know how to post a link to FB but type in "1930 Plymouth model 30-u $7,500" to the search in the Fresno area (Madera) and it will come up. Its been listed quite a while.

I had a friend passing through that area but he already made the trip. I'll check with you next time he goes that way. Are you right in or near D.C.?
Hi, Do you still have the wheel?
Beautiful car! Looks like a great time.

When using the knock off it is crucial to have the opposite wheel off the deck to allow the axle to be knocked out of the hub. If not the axle will have to overcome the friction of the other side being held fast by the weight of the car. I assume thats how the knocker in the first picture I posted got beat up since I received it that way. I've never had one that needed more than a coulple firm taps with the hammer as long as the other side was elevated and the side being removed on the deck to hold the hub still and let the whole shebang (axle, diff, other axle, other wheel) slide that few thousands of an inch to break free. If both wheels are elevated or both on the deck you are only beating the whole car away from you. Does that make sense?

Hi Chet, My car is safely tucked away in the garage for now while I've been dealing with other projects and that thing called life. I've been spending half my time back east in Mass. where I'm building a house and the other half in Calif. Eventually I'll bring my '29 and a couple other cars back east where I have more room to get things done. I still check in every day to see what all you guys are up to. Lately I've been playing with early Dodge and Chrysler hemi engines. Hope all is well with you and yours Chet.

Just click on his avatar and it will give you the option of "starting a conversation"
Here's his number Russ, 469-358-4233. I didn't get a name other than his screen name Dirty30Dodge.
I guess you could register on the HAMB and send him a PM. I'll ask him for his contact info first and see how that works.
