Ski,
Very sorry, still didn't get any notifications from new responses, I had the wrong setup it looks like. I usually check this site about once a month at current time. I think I have it working now.  Feel free to PM if I don't respond in a timely manner; I'm still here.

To answer your question, I am about 30 miles south of DC.  I'd be willing to travel up to 30 miles to meet your friend, if that would make it easier, assuming you still need the wheel and your friend comes this way again.

Yes, still have the wheel.  Sorry for the delay in responding, I'm not getting notifications for some reason.

For Sale- 1929-32 4-Cyl Plymouth Crankshaft.  Asking $80.  Also 1930-32 Plymouth Wire wheel.  From a 1930 30U; not exactly sure if it fits the other 4-cyl years, but it probably does. Diameter is 19".  Takes 4.75" x 19" tire.  Asking $45.  Will not ship the crankshaft, it is too heavy, but can deliver to most of the Carlisle, PA shows, or can possibly deliver within about 125 miles of Washington D.C.  Will ship the wheel, please send a zip code for a shipping quote.  I am located in northern Virginia.

If interested, feel free to make me an offer, want these to go to a good home and avoid the scrap yard, but they need to go, I cannot use them and they are taking up space.

General Discussion / Re: Brass cup to carburetor
January 16, 2023, 07:27:27 PM
I have an extra brass cup, which is very straight, but unfortunately has two splits in it, one is 1 1/2 inches long and the other is about 1/2 an inch long.  Reminds me a little of our Liberty Bell.  If yours is completely unusable and if you can't find another one, maybe this can be silver soldered, as Russ mentions.  Let me know if you end up being interested.

General Discussion / Re: It's Back!!! HERSHEY .
November 21, 2021, 06:56:36 PM
I think that there were a few folks staying away because of COVID issues, but more importantly, most, if not all of our international friends were not in attendance, which will keep attendance lower, especially Canada.  There were a few Ply parts, but mostly common things like radiator caps.  I'm amazed at the great rare Ply parts I've found at Hershey, just over the last 5 years.

General Discussion / Re: Info on shaft covers needed
October 21, 2020, 06:47:58 PM
I have not used anything modern and am not aware of a modern equivalent, but I got some leather and made one of these covers myself, based on an original.  I would think you could farm this out to someone, they aren't too hard to make.  You can keep the car as original as possible, plus the original style leather covers work fine.  Sorry, not helpful, but is another option.

Thanks for the response!

Hello,
Does anyone know if the original generator bracket nuts and bolts on a 30 U were hexagonal or square?  This is the bracket that goes under the generator has has two attachment points, not the bracket on top where you can adjust the tension of the generator belt.  Thanks!

Yes, a photo would be very helpful if you have one.

General Discussion / 30 U gas pedal
September 28, 2019, 09:44:28 PM
One question I never got around to asking: does the gas pedal on a 1930 30U have any rubber piece on it, or is it just metal?   My car just has a metal circle that is wearing thin, but no rubber petal attached to it.  right next to it is a "foot rest" knob that has a rubber knob on it.

Rich,
You should be getting your parts shortly.  I emailed the tracking number to you.  Keep us posted on how it works out.

Rich,
Sent you an email with a photo, not sure if you got it.  Also, I believe my switch parts to be from 1930, so not sure if these will work fully with your '29, but the coil looks exactly the same from what I can tell.

Rich,
I may be able to help.  I believe I have an extra coil/ignition that I tried to get working, and did get working for a few hours, but I think the coil may have given up, so I gave up.  Let me see if I can dig it out of my parts pile tomorrow and see what I have and get back to you.

Thanks.  I ended up using a Model A one and cutting it to fit.  Worked great.
