Goodyear also makes tires for the 28-29 Plymouths but not the 20" size you mention.

Jason - Plymouths first trucks didn't come until 1937 and lasted through 1941.  There were some sedan deliveries (1935-1941) and an oddball 30 that could be used as a sedan delivery or regular passenger car although it had a door at the rear of the body.  I have all the serial numbers.  If you have a specific question, email me at benji@utma.com

Kelsey Tire is also making the 19" & 20" tires in both black and whitewall.  These are Goodyear in the original design tread pattern.  Original supplier (in the USA) was Fisk in those years with Goodyear becoming the supplier in the early 30's.  Once you have an idea how many tires, tubes, etc., let me give you a quote.  Jim Benjaminson   benji@utma.com

General Discussion / Re: heater

Not sure if tinkeys got a copy of the floor hot-air heater brochure but if anyone wants a copy, email me and I'll email it back.  benji@utma.com
Also, just a note.  Heaters WERE NOT standard equipment on cars until about the mid-60s or so.  Heaters, radios, etc., were all dealer installed before you took delivery of your new car and you paid extra for them.  When they became "standard", the price of the car was higher, of course....

I like 34 Dodge's but I sure like that Holden ute!  Too bad they don't make those here in the USA!

General Discussion / Re: What does the badge mean?
June 25, 2012, 09:48:10 PM
I have not seen a badge(s) like these before and I note yours is a Holden bodied car.  This is purely speculation but judging from the word LT DRAB - I'm guessing it is the color "light drab".  The other tag may have been another color code.  The spot where you have tags is where the body number tag was placed on U.S. built cars.

A little late to this board but I do have an advertising brochure for the hot-air floor mounted heater.  If anyone wants a copy, email and I'll put it on the scanner.  My email is benji@utma.com

General Discussion / Re: Service Bulletins

Many years ago the Plymouth Owners Club tried collecting one of every service bulletin,  a task that wasn't completed because we couldn't fill in "all the blanks".  Would be interested in what SB's you have - the date and number on them.  If you have time you can reply back to me at benji@utma.com

General Discussion / Re: Some Plymouth questions

To answer your question as to where certain cars were built (Dodge/Plymouth/DeSoto etc) go to AllPar.com and search that question.  I put together a list from factory material I had plus others contributed to it, so the list is fairly complete.  Regarding the early 4 cylinder Plymouths - they were built in the Jefferson Avenue plant until sometime in 1929 when the Lynch Road assembly plant was completed.  At the time Lynch Road was the largest automobile assembly plant in the world.  It still sits at the corner of Lynch Road and Mt. Elliott Avenue but is no longer an auto manufacturing facility.  Plymouths were also built in the Windsor, Ontario plant in Canada.  In later years Los Angeles came on line (1932) and Evansville, Indiana (1935).
