I am finally getting ready to reinstall the engine in my 30-U after a complete rebuild and will be trying to use my Kingston vacuum tank instead of the electric fuel pump I used previously.  Since the vacuum tank runs off the oil pump, as opposed to drawing vacuum from the manifold, I would think that some type of check valve needs to be placed in the vacuum line to keep gas from getting into the oil pump.  Is there a check valve in the vacuum tank itself and if not has anyone added one in the line?  If so, what did you use?  Thanks.

Has anyone had an oil pump rebuilt?

This is the kick board on my 2 owner 30-U rumble seat coupe.  It has the remnants of a chevron pattern mat that is glued to the board and what looks like a guide or support for the accelerator button.  The missing foot rest screws into a threaded plate under the kick board and there is felt like material tacked to the perimeter.   I am trying to figure out what is right here.

Has anyone changed over from the disc setup and if so what did you do?  I have never been able to eliminate the vibration from the drive shaft at speeds over 30 and would like to go to a better setup.  I am also a bit concerned about the possibility of the rear discs letting go and taking out the brake line so it is also a safety issue for me.

Can anyone recommend a rebuilder who has done Delco 947B generators?  I believe that generator was used on Plymouths from 1928 up to and including the non-water pump 30-U's.  Thanks.

Does anyone have a source for the front bearing and is there a replacement for the throwout bearing?

I have repro running boards and moulding trim that I bought over 25 years ago and the instructions for attaching the trim disappeared ages ago. Does the inside and outside moulding go under the end pieces or does it butt against the ends?  Also,   how are the end pieces attached to the running board?  The long pieces use clips that fit through slits in the running board but they don't seem to be very secure either.  I'm wondering how the original trim was attached.  Pictures would be great! Still looking for picture of the correct trim for the cloth roof insert and information from anyone who has replaced the insert.
I need to replace mine and re wood parts of what is still there.  I believe my insert was replaced at one time and I need to know if it was done correctly or modified.  Thanks.

Is there a source for the body to frame mounting blocks for the 30-U?  If not, what are you using?

Looking for the spark plug tube or loom that attaches to the head bolts on the 30-U.

I am trying to determine if the trim on my early Briggs body coupe is correct and, if not, what the correct trim looks like.  I am at the point in my restoration where I need to remove the insert to prep for paint and replace one cracked support rib.  Hopefully I have attached a picture of what I have.

After weeks of soaking with penetrating fluid I still cannot get the steering gear adjusting nut to budge.  I have the column out of the car so I finally unscrewed the worm gear housing from the nut but the nut still will not turn on the steering column.  Before I try heat and a big wrench is there any secret here?  Is the nut also threaded on the steering column and unscrews counterclockwise or does it just sit on the column?

I have an early 30-U coupe with the rectangular rear window and need to replace the cloth insert in the roof.  The current insert is an obvious replacement and I am looking for pictures of the correct insert trim and material.  Also, my owners manual has a wiring diagram that show a dome light but a footnote says that the dome light is in the sedans only.  When I dropped the headliner there are wires running to the area where a dome light would be located but there is no evidence a dome light was ever there.  Did the coupe have a dome light or not?  If it had one, what does it look like?  Thanks.

I am in the process of a restoration on my 30-U and need to replace the horn wire running through the column as the insulation has deteriorated.  Has anyone ever done that and if so what do I need to be aware of before I get started.  I certainly don't want to damage anything.

I know that there was a special tool used to adjust the brakes on the 30-U when relining the shoes but if you don't have that tool how do you adjust the brakes using the anchor pins and adjusting cams so that you have even surface contact?

Is there a source for the drag link ball on the 30-U?  I believe it is the same for the Q through PD. Thanks

My 30-U has dampening springs and no shocks.  I now have a set of shocks and the mounting hardware for the car.  Should I remove the dampening springs when I install the shocks or did they come with them even if the car was originally equipped with shocks.  I have always assumed the dampening shocks took the place of the shocks that were an option.

Looking for a source for rod bolts for my 30-U as mine are stretched beyond use.  There must be something close that is being used on recent rebuilds but I have not been able to find what it is. Thanks.

Could someone post a picture of how the front and rear shocks are mounted on a 30-U.  I recently acquired a set and am unsure how they are installed. Also, I am still looking for a source of rod bolts for my car as mine are severely stretched.  Thanks.

I am looking for pictures of a correct early 30-U firewall so I can close up any extra holes in the firewall and mount the correct Kingston vacuum tank in place of the Stewart vacuum tank that was substituted for it by the previous owner.  Thanks
