I am not quite sure if I have this correct so maybe we can start a discussion on Firewall components.
I think I have everything just a couple questions.

1. Is the picture correct ?
2. What is the Red Circled grommet used for ?
3. The Red Arrows point to mounting screw holes.  What goes there ?

I know what all the other holes are used for.  I think ??  Pictures are always helpful.

Chet, it's for the oil line that goes to the gage. I'll up load a picture.

Chet, here's some pictures. Let me know if you need any others.

My choke and timing cables are in the same spot as you show but my speedo goes through the same hole as the ignition bundle which I'm sure is wrong. I'd say it goes in the hole like you have labled. My oil gage line appears to be original. The holes with red arrows are empty on my car as well as a couple others.

Ski,

Many thanks for posting the pictures. These are very helpful. My oil line attaches to the oil pump output. I think your's probably attaches to one of the oil ports on the driver's side.  I have looked at many firewalls and there are as many variations as firewalls. I truly appreciate your input. I think in this case close may have to suffice.

Thanks Chet.

I'll take a look and see what Muriel says

Yes Chet, my oil line attaches to a port in the side of the block just below the starter as shown in the second picture. The third pic shows it comming through the fire wall under the dash. I'm going to move my speedo cable to where yours is when convienient.

Thanks ski. I think now the only thing in question is the oil line.  Dave posted about another car for sale. Looking at that motor compartment it seems to verify pretty much everything but the oil line.  Interesting stuff.   Most likely manufacturing line switched the connection point from the pump to the opposite side of the engine.   Probably par for the course in 29 - 30
