General Discussion / Compression test
August 15, 2009, 05:39:42 AM
Hi all,

I've just preformed a cylinders compression test dry & wet. Does anyone know what the manufactures pressure should be? All my measurements for the four are between 50-60 psi.

Many thanks

General Discussion / Tasmanian Trip
July 30, 2009, 11:14:45 PM
Hi everyone,

Well I'm finally returned from a successful 16 day club rally which took the Plymouth through some beautiful parts of Tasmania, Australia. All up it was a total of 1900 miles or 3057 kms.

The journey was very comfortable and we only had a few problems. A flat tire, some kind of fuel blockage which cleared it self after about 5 miles and an overcharging generator which upset the starter motor, not bad for an 80 year old vintage car!

We traveled with six other vintage cars of all different makes and models mine was the only Plymouth. I was using a lot of oil due to a rear bearing seal. The oil wasn't coming out from my exhaust but it was dripping out from the bell housing when I stopped. As long as I kept toping it up and checked my oil pressure I just kept moving forward. Any ideas on solving the rear bearing seal problem? Engine oil is cheap but I would like to fix it.

Thank you all for technical advice and helping in preparing the Plymouth your knowledge is priceless.

I would like to encourage all Plymouth owners to get out and experience what I have in the 16 days and 1900 miles it's worth it.

Enjoy :)

General Discussion / Tasmanian Members
March 30, 2009, 12:29:50 AM
Hi all

I will be touring in Tasmania from the 13th July to 24th July 2009.

I was wondering if any members from Tasmania would be interested in catching up along the way.

The Vintage Motor Club, Sydney will have an assortment of ten or more different car makers built between 1919- 1930.

If anyone is interested let me know and I will forward you my travel plans?

March 16, 2009, 04:38:45 AM
Hi everyone

I need to replace the gasket between the head and the outlet flange on my 29U.
What type of gasket material do I use and any further tips with the procedure?
Hope all your cars will be ready for spring!

Drive Safe.

Many thanks

Hi all

My name is Rodney from Sydney Australia and my wife and I have a 1929 roadster which I have owned for the past 21 years.
I am the second owner of this rare vintage car. I belong to a vintage car club and all the members have played a big part
in keeping this roadster on the road! Thanks for this forum.
