Decode my fedco No?

Hi all

Can anyone help me decode my fedco No?

Its from a 29U roadster.

Sydney, Australia.

Your car RY-170-C equates to  45-170-2   or   451,702

Your car was built in Detroit and I would guess around the first quarter of 1929.  March or before.

Just for your info, there is only one "R" in the FEDCO translation.  The second "R" is a "D":

Next year all our 29U's will be turning 80 and I would like to celebrate my 29U and finding out some dates would help.
I am hoping next year to tour around Tasmania in July of 2009 a nice way to celebrate 80 years of motoring!

How does the fedco number correspond with the number stamped just below the starter motor?
It looks as if the No 22 is attached with a small plate. Could this be the engines date of completion,
October 22nd 1929? My 29U was exported to Australia as a rolling chassis.

I have many numbers on the vehicle, engine, body and another strange engine number.
I am putting together a list of numbers that are on my 29U I will post them later.

What do you think?

Ok, Still confused on the numbers here.
  I need the "Decode your Fedco # for Dummies" Book!

umm... so if I read mine correctly on my 28Q 4 door from the Windsor, Ontario plant...

GP349R

  G P  3  4  9  R
  ? 1  3  4  9  4

What does the G mean???

Also what about the number plate on the wooden floorboards on the passenger side?

In reality there are numbers out there that use letters not found in the FedCo table. For example, the serial numbers for the Windsor factory in 1929 are listed as "GP-583-W" through "GC-499-L" or "?1-583-0" through "?2-499-7" for the second production line at Windsor in 1929. 

Sorry but it seems that nothing with our cars is perfectly clear.  I think also that Dave is correct in that non-standard letters were indicators that the production in 1928 & 29 occurred at the Windsor Plant in Canada.
