Tried to get out to a club meeting with the 29 but have been working on things since yesterday. Long story for another time.
Question: I now have a bad brake light switch. When I change this do I have to bleed the lines? Has anyone experienced a switch not working and after bleeding the lines the problem corrects itself?
I did however fix a chronic problem with the Vaccuum fuel pump. The float would jam occasionally. Not anymore. :)
When we got our 29 the switch wasn't wired up but also didn't work. I put a new switch in and wired up the lights and it worked fine. Until last week when the new switch failed. If you get your new switch ready to install and unscrew the old and put in the new there shouldn't get any air in the system. If you don't plug the hole with a new switch I think all your fluid will run out in the floor.
You reminded me to order a new switch
I have replaced the switch without having to bleed the brakes and there was no fluid loss. I always assumed that if the rest of the system is air tight no fluid would drip out and no air would get in.

Sounds good to me. Thanks

Thanks, I ordered two. :) :)
I fitted a mechanical switch to the brake pedal. wasn't happy with the closing pressure setting on the master cylinder switch. Found no lights would illuminate under light braking.
Very true.
Just curious, how did you mount the switch.
I made a bracket that comes off the pedal stop screw. And use a brake light switch that became the new pedal stop. I can take a photo in a few days.
I should add mine is a RH drive. But should work on LH aswell.
