General Discussion / Re: Antenna?
June 19, 2011, 10:22:07 PM
You will haft to make sure the radio is not mounted to metal. It will haft to be insulated. I havfe done this before on "A"s and as long as you insulate them fully it works good and sometime you get electric noise tho.  But that can be fixed too.  Good luck Craig

General Discussion / Re: Babbitt to inserts?
May 26, 2011, 09:29:46 PM
This process is comen in Model "A"s.  I am not in favor of it at all. It is the easy way out for those who donot know how to pour babbit.  They do not last as long and the babbit on the inserts is not very thick. When the get bad the get the crank quickly.  I has a tendecy to be a noisy engine also.  You will ruin a block to turn it out for bearings if it takes the same process a an "A".  These are my thought I will put a properly built babbit engine against a inserted engine any day!!!! Good luck Craig

General Discussion / Gas tank mounting
May 22, 2011, 08:10:04 PM
I am ready to put my gas tank in and do not know what goes up on top between frame and tank.  It had a home made tank in it and it was just tighten with straps to frame.  I think there should be something on top of tank because it just hits the seams on outer edge of tank. So any mounting instructions would be helpful. Thanks Craig

General Discussion / Re: Distributor slop
January 17, 2011, 11:11:26 PM
If it is the same slop I had in mine you will need to buy a new Dist housing from Then and Now Antique 781-335-8860 it is in previous chat topics.  They are up to 450.00 now.  But they are the only one that have them.  You will need to send your gears to them and the will make the new one.  But the old pot metal gets sloppy and cant be fixed.  Good luck Craig
