Member frankp (Frank Pistotnik) lost his battle with lung cancer this last Saturday.

I met Frank years ago when searching for info on my then newly acquired 29 Plymouth. Over the last 9 years he has came over and wrenched, gone with on a parts run road trip and annually would drive one of his 29's over to meet me at my hometown threshing show. (with a collector car corner) We had some good talks and he was a great resource for information. He will be missed.

I will post the live stream information for his service when available for those interested. It will be January 28th at 11am.

Really, you are the only guy that it will or won't bother.

My 2 cents, (coming from someone who hasn't tried to set mine up yet)

If you are strictly looking for reliably, electric pump is the way to go. If i ever do any regular street driving, I will have a hard time parting with it. Especially since I know my tank has rust in it and I don't trust the Kingston to pull through a filter or not plug up with sediment.

If you want to be correct, there is only one way  :) The Kingston's are rare, making the cool factor of having one in service more appreciated by us in the know. I guess i'm saying you're close, don't give up just yet, but its alright if you have to.

The guy who needs to chime in is Frank, 2 summers ago he drove from Minneapolis to Northville Michigan and back on a Kingston.

For what its worth mine does the same thing (low or no pressure on cold start) but I consider it wore out. Can't vouch for how accurate the pressure gauge is either. When I plug the vacuum tank fitting my oil pressure spikes and the motor actually sounds worse (like I'm starving the lifters or something) Pressure vs. volume?

I don't what is normal.

Looks like your building a classic hot rod with no fenders, pending a roof chop.

Must feel good to have a fresh engine, my burnouts are still subject to wet grass......

Great to see the project near completion. Looks like you will be ready for summer!

Key word enclosed. This one is't show room quality, getting tougher to find a salt free transport window this time a year.

Somebody pay more than 3k so I don't have to go get this thing .....

Where do you live Russ ? Alaska ? lol There was a large Mecum auction this last week, and there carriers would ship a tractor 6 hours for 300-350$

It would take me 10.5 hours each way. So 2 days, one night hotel and diesel. I am tempted to call and ask for pictures, just in case it goes dirt cheap. I need more garage than I need a 6th car to join my 4 tractors... but who can pass up a steal?? I would have her running in a week   ;)

Interesting, has the potential to go low. Won't stay running and brakes are stuck.

Need pictures of the interior and under hood. Who knows whats going on in there. Good buy at 3G?

I have the metal section on my 30-U thermosyphon system but there is a by-pass running from it to the upper hose.  Car always runs cool but I have no idea what purpose the by-pass is intended to serve.  I have always assumed that was the way it was designed until this thread but based on what I am seeing it looks like the previous owner made that set up for some reason.  Does anyone know what purpose it was intended to serve?

Like this? Picture is from an auction car Chet listed.
