1/16 th maybe to thin for the dial to spin . Think my cork was 1/8th to let needle move freely . Keep up good work . You should be driving it up to Hershey in Fall .

You'll need a couple cork gaskets for top and under gauge . I may had tried cork for gasket on flange also . The newer with rubberized fill . Also Seal-All is fuel resistant . As a consistency of silicone caulk . Henry Bolen made a new gauge face for his , may have it on cad if it would help you .

Pics in my trucks sales lit. show belly down . I think so in hot sun ,greases do not melt  and block valve holes . But my truck has on inside also .

The outer part is on the metal clad flex headlight loom . Has a little turn in to catch loom .

Looking good Chet . Question the air cleaner you have on there is it open on bottom ( inlet end ) or is air go in slits ? Would be wondering if bottom is open and at speed would be forcing air in changing mix . I know Carter as both fin open both up and a down direction type . Depending on carb inlet . Most Mopars carb inlet left on right side of engine . Most Chevy's opposite .

Jjohn something does not sound right . One inch diff with short being back is way out and pigeon toed . Car should be done on ground and positive toe in ( front shortest ) by about 1/8" . I measure with tape rule off a middle thread . Easier for one person , then metal rim and accurate enough . Yes this small eighth made my truck stop most of it dancing on straight away driving .

Yes , Merry and Happy to all . And it was a beautiful warm day in Pa hit 50* f . Warm enough to get the '31 backed out of the garage and run engine warm for an oil change .
