September 02, 2015, 12:52:04 PM
My '28 was side swiped by a teenage pinhead . the whole right side of "Amelia" was taken out and she is totaled.

I want to thank all who helped me with with imformation that made the car a great driver.

I managed to salvage the horn, hub caps and  assorted bits. I wil post for sale in the near future.

Again,  Thank you to a great bunch of guys.

Ski, I tried to post but sizes were too big. I'll try to re-size and post soon, I hope.

Ski, Good pics! Thank you.

Looks like it's a '29 Business Coupe. Nice car.

Love the clock on the rear view mirror! Very kool.

How long have you owned it? Is your goal to restore it for show or just drive it?  Are you going with the wood or steel spokes?

My car will probably be my driver. It's a blast!

Your grand daughter is adorable, and has great taste in cars!

Me thinks she will remember sitting in that old car all her life.

My olds coupe is no beauty queen, but that's how I like her.
Is yours a business coupe?

Ski, Thanx for the info. Can't see where a shock mounted. I was just wondering.
I like your car, but could not enlarge the tiny pic to get a good look.
Can you post a bigger pic(pics)/

Great info. guys!
I will try straight 30wt. when I run out of 20/50.
Amelia's engine is really worn and uses about a qt. about every 100-150 miles and would probably run with just about any oil!
She just keeps a runnin'.

Doug, I agree with your opinion. I think it also depends on the state of wear in any engine. Worn engines may require heavier oil.
What oil pressure does your car run at?
Are you using non-detergent 30 Wt.?

Thanx racertb.

I run about 25-30lbs. oil pressure.

When I've used up all the 20/50, I think I'll experiment with straight 30wt. or 10w30 and watch the oil pressure.

What's your pressure running?

I have settled on 20/50 wt. with some addition of oil treatment to help with oil consumption.

The old gal uses about a qt. every 150 miles.

What have you guys found works best as far as oil weight and consumption is concerned?

I had the same results as racertb.
