Chet

I have not been on the form for some time because of some personal problems.
I also have not been able to work on my 29 for a while but am getting back to it now.
Sorry to hear about your flooding that can sure make a mess and be a pain you know were.
Hope it all works out for you. We've been having a lot of rain in Colorado also but no flooding so far.

Good Luck George

Chet:
It looks like you had a great Father's Day, wish I could have been there but it's a little ways from Colorado.

Just for info. I had my brakes relined by these guys and they did a great job at a resonable price.
The starter on my 29 shorted and I've sent them and email to see what it will cost to have it rebuilt.

Good luck with all your projects

Haven't posted in a while. Been to cold here in Colorado to do much work on my car but finally have a couple of nice days and need some advice.
The wood floors in my 29 4 door are in great shape but just bare painted wood. What would be the correct material to put down if any. Thanks for any help.

By the even though I haven't posted lately I do enjoy reading all the post.
Thanks Chet for putting this togather and congrats on coming up on a year.

General Discussion / 29 wheel puller
August 21, 2007, 07:57:55 PM
Well I made it back from vacation and had a lot of fun at Reno Hot August Nights. Saw many classic cars including a 1930 Plymouth coupe, it looked good. I went to the swap meet to see if I could find anything for my Plymouth and all I found were some pretty ruff hub caps so didn't get anything.
I am still looking for a wheel puller for my 1929 Plymouth. I found one for a Ford Model T that looks like it may work. Does anyone know if it will fit my Plymouth.

Chet:

Here is the wheel puller for the 29.

I have now tried all the suggestions that people gave plus a few of my own and still have not gotten the rear wheels off. I found a picture of the original hub puller and will try to find one if not I may have one made. I will be in Reno, NV for Hot August Nights (over 3000 cars both original and hotrod) and will go to the large swap meet they have, maybe I'll get lucky.
Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions.

Chet:

I sent some picures to the e-mail listed above. Let me know if you got them and if they are what you are looking for. The guy I bought my 29 from claimed this is the right crank.

Chet:
I have a crank that came with my car. I took some pictures but could not get them attached, not sure what I'm doing wrong. The crank is a total of 29 inches long.
From the tip that fits into the car it is 24in to the first bend then 8in to the handle and the handle is 5in long. It is 3/4in in diameter. If you can help with the picture I'd be glad to send them or send me your e-mail address and I'll e-mail them to you.

I used a chain and screw jack and cranked on it until the jack started to bend.
The jack was an old iron one not flimsy.
Not sure how I'm going to get the rear wheels off. If anyone has an idea please let me know. I will continue to work on it and come up with something.
