Is the lower fan belt pulley on a 30-U threaded on to the crankshaft?
NO, there is a nut on the end of the crankshaft which has the notches for the hand crank. Take this off and the pulley is set on the crank with a keyway.
I am just starting to get my engine back together after a complete rebuild.

Thanks Gary. I had the nut off but did not see a slot for the key so I did not want to put a puller on it without confirming that it was a press fit. Oddly, the threads on the crank shaft look like they run right into the pulley
