General Discussion / Master parts book
February 10, 2013, 05:45:19 PM
I have a Dec 1932 Plymouth Master Parts book and another fellow I know has a copy that is dated April 1 1934. What gives, why two copies so close to one another?

General Discussion / Data books
January 27, 2013, 04:02:51 PM
I have asked this on the AACA forum and no-one recognizes what year and any details of these small booklets, un-dated. Some of them are Dodge and some Plymouth I have picked up over the years.

I am assuming maybe they were part of the original paperwork that came with the car. None of them have even a hint of a picture, only text. I am guessing 1937 or so but maybe one of you guys could pin-point it better for me

General Discussion / Early plymouth keys
January 27, 2013, 07:57:47 AM
Hey guys, I am hoping that someone here can tell me what was the shape of the ORIGINAL key heads that would have operated your early Plymouth's.

For instance did the ignition originally use a hex shaped key head, maybe the door locks used round and so what did your spare tire locks use or maybe spare tire locks were not issued with your Plymouth's if your cars had side-mounts.

By early Plymouth I am interested mainly 28-30 or so although I would love to hear what any year used right on up until the mid thirties. Thanks

General Discussion / Oil Vac
October 14, 2012, 06:55:21 AM
I am part of a discussion on another forum concerning this set-up and will copy and paste the jist of this dialogue........... if i am not mistakeing if you have a vacume tank, doesn't the oil pump some how work the vacume tank. because on the side of the block on my 4 cylinder plymouth engine it says oil-vac where the oil pump is.........the oil-vac ( or vacuum fuel canister as we like to call it ) was operated in unison with the oil pump, I remember reading that this was to refute the tendency of losing vacuum when climbing a hill or what have you.

His truck is a 29 Dodge with the 4 cyl Plymouth engine.

I am wondering if anyone has seen this set-up on any of their Plymouth engines.

I am wondering where Oil Vac would be stamped on the block, seems odd that they would cast this writing into the truck engines but not the car. I am under the assumption that the truck engines were identical with the car except some of the bolt on items.

Can anyone add anything to help clear this up?

General Discussion / Plymouth trucks
October 04, 2012, 07:36:32 PM
I am seeking information ( any information at this point ) concerning early Plymouth trucks, late 20 early thirties. Information such as serial number versus motor number designation would be especially helpful at this point. Anyone have any suggestions?

General Discussion / Some Plymouth questions
March 05, 2012, 04:10:46 PM
Thank-you if anyone here can help me with these questions..........

2- I would like to know where exactly the Plymouth vehicles were manufactured, in honesty I would like a cheat sheet of some sort that details where all Chrysler vehicles ( Maxwell as well ) cars were manufactured. 1924- 38 Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, Desoto, Fargo ect, as can be applied to the make of vehicle.

What plant and location.

3- I would like to confirm that all early Plymouth vehicles used the wood skeleton design much like Chevrolet and many others.

4- Until what year did they use this type of body, was there a specific body that maybe went with all steel before another for example?

5- Why didn't Chrysler use Budd bodies for the new Plymouth? Cost? Were Plymouth Fisher bodies ( all of them ) as I suspect?

General Discussion / confidential/service bulletins
July 20, 2011, 07:37:30 AM
Anyone here have any knowledge of how Chrysler issued these. Just picked up a bunch 33-37 but see no rhyme to reason on their order. I can of course post some specific pict. showing better what I am misunderstanding if need be.
Just to clarify I am hoping someone here has some of these and can explain to me how these were issued. Thanks

General Discussion / Skinned knuckles
July 20, 2011, 06:31:57 AM
I am looking for an article written some time ago about grease fittings. I have read that it was  Vol 1 issue 3 and have also read Vol. 28 No. 12 (July 2004), Maybe this later issue was a reprint of the original.

Does anyone here have these issues and can scan or photocopy.

Neither issue is avail. any longer from the back-issue reserve of skinned-knuckles web-site. Thanks

General Discussion / Ault park
June 14, 2011, 03:52:08 PM
I know this is a long shot but does anyone know of a gentleman first name Larry that has a 1929 Plymouth Roadster that would have been on the field of Ault Park in Cincinnati, OH. This is a pict of his car, I have wanted to get in touch with him for some time now to share information. Thanks

General Discussion / Tools
June 13, 2011, 08:25:23 PM
Hello,  I have been studying what the original toolkits consisted of for our cars and have made alot of progress, as many of you may or may not know there has never been any original factory photos of the toolkits for any Chrysler produced vehicle before  1935 ( that I know of ) that has ever surfaced so any car owners  that fell prior to this date have taken the word of shady e-bay sellers whom don't care either way whether what they are selling is correct or not.
I believe also due to the fact that AACA judging not deducting points for missing tool-kits in past years has played a big part in auto enthusiasts not taking the extra step to making there cars complete and correct but as can already be seen major judging standards are changing in favor of cars with correct complete toolkits.
I have been able to cross reference the few part numbers for Plymouth that I do have with other known Chrysler vehicles part numbers from original kits and in this way I am able to determine what alot of these tools were that made up the Plymouth toolkits but I need some help.
I need  a copy of the model specific parts manual TOOLS SECTION  ( which has always been one single page thus far ) for all years of Plymouth cars 1928-1938 or so.
I have to set a cut-off or I will never complete this so I have tried to end at 38 but it would seem that there were some major changes in 36 so I may have to expand my studies a little to answer more questions.
I don't need the Master Parts Books tools section for a couple of reasons first and foremost the information has proven to be very inaccurate when compared to the year specific model specific information and secondly I have some of these copies already.
If anyone is willing to help please respond to this post or contact me via e-mail at jhason2@yahoo.com

Also if you own any other Chrysler produced make and have that makes specific parts book and would be willing to scan the tools page it would be greatly appreciated as well.
I have been doing this because no one else has and their are people that care enough about restoring their cars correctly but dont have the hours upon hours upon hours to try and research these kits themselves

Thanks for any consideration in this matter

General Discussion / Kingston vacuum tanks

I have been told that 28 Plymouth ( at least ) came originally with Kingston and only Kingston is this true? Does anyone have any information on these tanks? Thanks
