General Discussion / Re: The vacuum wiper motor.
February 07, 2011, 04:38:04 PM
Hey Chet, It's yours. Send me your address, I will mail it to you. No charge, If I can help someone -- great. The electric wiper motor (one) was on the car when I got it, and one extra in the trunk (marvelous trunk lol) Mine looks like there may never have been two wipers on the windshield...? The electric one is on the same place as the vacuum would have been, on the outside of the cab.

Hey Chet, Seems the trunk of my ole 29 Coupe has a lot of stuff in it. LOL.
I have a wiper motor, I am sure that came off this car because the car is converted to electric wipers now and I am satisfied with that and not changing back to vacuum, Take a look at these pictures, is this what you need, all the mechanisms work fine. I took it apart and all seems good. Looks like someone done some work on it, but all on the exterior, whatever..... and awful dirty lol

General Discussion / Re: Top Material Pattern??

Rich, Hope this may help.
Attached picture of the material used in the top of my 1929 Plymouth Coupe. I don't know if this is original or not, it is at least 20 years old. lol Looking at the installation, looks original, or who ever done the work did real good job of it, I can not tell where the work was done.

General Discussion / Re: Distributor slop
February 02, 2011, 10:09:37 PM
Hey Gary,
Before you spend a lot of money you may try checking off a couple items I have seen over the years.  First and easiest, if you haven't tryed this yet, take the fan belt off and run the engine, just enough to eliminate the fan and Generator as to being the problem and take a good look at the harmonic balancer for something that would throw it out of balance. The other thing I have seen, especially on the 4 cyl engine, an intermitant miss in one cyl would cause a shake/vibration. It would idle fine but under a little throttle or pressure it would miss fire, either from a plug, a plug wire, or enough slop in the distributor the points wouldn't make a good contact every time. (putting new bushing in the distributor would have taken care of that though) Only my thoughts, good luck, some of those vibes are hard to find.

Good Morning too you, You are up and around kinda earley... I don't know of any special trick to get the rims seperated, just had to watch out for the valve stem so I didn't tear it off, had to do a bit of juggling and moving it around then it kinda fell off. LOL, evidently it had to be in a certain position. Good luck with that...

I may be confused some times..... or so I'm told. lol.  Thanks, I appreciate the help, you did not confuse me, it all makes sense. They will come out easy now, with a little wiggling. At least I won't get paint all over the inside of the window and probable save me a bit of time besides. Thanks,

I've had my door trim removed for a week now, and have been looking at the window mechanism. I just wanted to remove the windows to help with painting the inside of the door. Any tips? Mybe the coupe is different from the 4 door?  Thanks,

I guess all I can say is "WOW".  Did you put in NEW spokes, or re-furbish the old one. Whatever, it still looks great.

Hi Chet,
Not sure... anyhow, I used an 6 inch extention from my 3/8 socket set. The 3/8 female end of the extention fit over a nipple on the tip of lever, pull toward the center of the wheel till the lever pops over center, it will stay in that possition untill you put the extention back on and trip it back to the closed position. It was pretty easy to pull it open. This lever does not disconect. It was an easy operation, this time anyhow. lol  Looks like all my wheels are the same, except the spare. The spare has a clip that uses a cotter pin in it to hold it closed, then uses the tire tool to compress it. I have seen one other type that will disconnect the lever for removal. There must be a lot of different rims out there. lol

Hi Chet, I'm not sure if you were understanding the type of rim I have. The tool is not needed at all on this rim, and you can not lift one end of the rim over the other.  This lever will not give any sideways movement, and when you move this lever to the open position it holds the rim compressed to put the tire and tube on, then release it to complete the operation. Jim sent me that post info and I did print it out, thanks.

Where would Bendigo Swap Meet be located? and when? Is there a site that posts swap meets? Or where does a person find out about them?
Thanks
