Title: Around the world journey in a 28 Plymouth roadster
Post by: chetbrz on December 20, 2014, 08:32:57 AM
I found this link on the POC forum.  It is an interesting link to a story published in the Dec 4th & 11th issues of Old Cars Weekly.  The article is about an around the world journey of a 28 Plymouth roadster that a man named Quam recently completed.  Not counting the ocean part, the car was driven over 16,000 miles.

Interesting read for these winter months.

Any trips planned for the summer months ?

I saw this in old car weekly. Good read.
I only wish they would say what else was done or if they modified the Plymouth.

Steve,

At the end of Part 2 there is a note called "Under the hood" detailing the modification.

John Quam is originally from Ames, IA and now resides in San Francisco. He has been a supporter of Des Moines and Iowa auto events for several years as was his father before him. His 1925 Kissel Gold Bug Roadster was diplayed at the 2014 Des Moines Concours d'Elegance as was his 1914 Kissel Semi-Racer which has also particpates  in the Red Flag Horseless Carraige Tour in Mt Pleasant, IA every September. The "around the world" Plymouth will be featured at the 2015 Des Moines Concours September 13.

I didn't see the modification part of the article. Thank you.
It was interesting to see that a slant six fits under the hood.

I felt the same way Ian.   Way too modified for me to get excited about the "journey".
