Title: tie rod ends

My 30u tie rod ends will not accept grease, can they be repaired?  thanks, jim

Jim,

Have you tried removing the grease fitting and cleaning it.  It might just be clogged with either dried grease or maybe rusty.

Thanks Chet.  The zerk fittings are fine I'll look for a tie rod end before I start tearing into it.

Northen Tool has a tool you can fill with grease and, put it on you zerk fitting and hit the plunger with a hammer, This forces the grease through. I made one from a piece of pipe with a rod in it, workes really well.

The pipe I usea was just 8th" water pipe, That will screw on to a grease gun fitting that will fit on to the zerk, The rod I used was a shank bolt that fit snugly in to the pipe. Put some grease  in the pipe slide the shank bolt in it put it on the zerk an hit the head of the bolt with a malit, Works most every time. I atached a picture
