General Discussion / Re: Repairing pot metal
« on: November 15, 2012, 09:26:50 PM »
The only way that pot metal can be fixed is to plate it with copper, then solder it together then re copper it, fine sand it, then plate it.  These are the basic steps of repairing pot metal.  It is a very timely process an requires a plater to do copper process.  rem this is the bacis process and I would cast door handles before repairing old ones much cheaper in long run.  Only rare pot metal should be repaired for cost reasons. Good luck Craig

General Discussion / Re: Throttle and Light switch levers
« on: June 13, 2012, 09:56:45 PM »
the Spark controls are just cast handles that have been chromed as of now like picture shows.  They are bonded to the steel handle rods and that can be done with a 3M product called panel bond or I can put them on a set of lever rods I have now.  I only have one set handles left that has been cast and chromed.  I can cast more if needed.  Here are the picks of before and after of the levers.  Let me know Craig
