General Discussion / Re: Hurricane Irma in FLA
« on: September 22, 2017, 12:58:10 PM »

We were pretty lucky compared to most...since the storm moved somewhat further west, we just had the wind/wind gusts and a lot of rain.  No flooding, but didn't expect that since we're not in a flood zone.  Other parts of the Jacksonville area had more damage and flooding.

I lost 20 shingles off my roof, which I've already replaced/repaired myself.  Of course, the cars were fine  :D

Thanks for asking...

Thanks John...I just received an email as well stating the same thing and that he won't be able to make these anymore.

Good morning:

I know I brought this topic up a while back, but does anyone know if Floyd Carlstrom is still in business?  Apparently the email address he has on the site is no good and his phone just rings with no answer or way to leave a message.

If you do nothing else, it looks 1000% better.  Even if you keep the stain and maybe add some more, it looks nice.  Definitely useable now 😃

Looks good!  Would like to see finished wheel and wonder how much stain it will take.  If you recall, my wheel is painted black...not sure if correct or not.

Hi John:

When I took the rims over a few years ago (along with the bumper mounts and luggage racks), all they did was clean them (bead blast?) down to bare metal and kept them rims opened up so no over lapping.  Once cleaned up, they went on ahead and did the powder coating process of spraying and then baking.  I chose gloss black for everything.  I did give some thought to a silver/cadmium look with the rims but stuck with the black.  I got everything back a few days later.

Hope this helps...

Hi Chet, it was great meeting you and your wife as well.  Let me know when you're in the area again.

Mine are the non-smooth, hex style like in the pic Frank provided (for what it's worth).
