I am interested in making my own muffler for the car. Would someone be able to tell me what the size of the original muffler is. I am after the dia, length and inlet and outlet size.

Thanks ian.

Ian,  all measurements taken from installed parts, I did not measure the circumferences.

Exhaust pipe 1 5/8" dia on car when purchased in 1965

Tail pipe 1 1/2" dia, I believe size is correct based on fragment of pipe in rear hangar

Muffler 18" overall length, about 6" diameter, I know this was replaced and can't claim correct, original dimensions, but it looks proportionally ok

Good luck to you,  frank
