Looking for another Carter brass bowl updraft carb for my 29.  The standpipe in mine broke off. :-\

Be that the stand pipe r pot metal. U should be able to dissolve it out. Using caustic soda and water. Keeping in mind this solution will eat away at anything made of alloy. Cast iron and brass r all safe.
Then you can just fit a new brass stand pipe.
Hope this may help

I think the carb body is a type of alloy too.  It is too light to be cast iron.

Bob Clark repaired my carburetor and it works fine now.  He makes replacement standpipes and has the tools to replace them.  He also makes the short accelerator pumps.  The turn around time was less than two weeks.  He replaced several other parts.  I ran the carb on my car today. I am very pleased.   :) He does this as a hobby.

Bob rebuilt my DRT-08 for my 30U, am just waiting to get the rest of the work done to get it started.

Great Job and quick turn around.
