Oil Indicator rod (dip stick)

It is curious that the low mark on the dip stick is at the practically empty point.  The manual stats, "The engine should never be operated when the oil is below the half full point of the indicator rod."  Seams like the "Low" should read "Empty"

When the oil is below the letter "F" it will take a quart to top it off.
