The door stops that prevent the doors from opening too wide and springing the hinges are missing. Kinda looks like maybe some sort of stiff strap material that goes from the door to the body. Hope my description is understandable.

I tried using belt leather, but it is not stiff enough to work properly.

Has anyone replaced theirs? If so what material did you use?

Any info. would be great.

Thank you,

SteveG

Hi SteveG

I used a type of belting material used to run machines.  It may have come from a machine shop or possibly a farm implement store.  They had various widths.  Not much of a lead.  (Also used this same material to fabricate "U" joints.)

Frank,

Thanx for your reply.

I will try the logging supply store in town.

I also made mine with machine belting material years ago.  However, i would think a door check strap for a Model A would work fine.
