Model Q & U Master Cylinder - November 19, 2006

  • I removed the master cylinder and dissembled the internal parts.
  • The rubber parts were in good shape.  No dry rot.
  • I am pretty sure that parts 13 through 19 are the same as the PA, PB, PC, and PD

  • It appears that the rear chamber was tack welded so that it could not be removed.  The owners manual remarks that the cylinder is not repairable and should be replaced if faulty.
  • I ground off the weld but still couldn't unscrew the rear assemble.
  • I will soak it in solvent and clean it out with compressed air. Hopefully it will work OK.
